Best Ever October 6, 2009 Ann from New York (New York) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My friend heard great things about this book from a co-worker and gave me a copy for my birthday. I love to cook and bake but I'm always giving away everything. I didn't realize I could sell these goodies and make real money. If you follow the author's steps it is easy to set up a business. I highly recommend this book.
Excellent recipes and tips for business start-up January 17, 2010 B. Reed (Kentucky) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book starts from the very beginning. You get tips about different kitchen set-ups and beginning equipment necessities as well as advancing to finding a special product niche and moving up to an actual baking shop. Very good investment for the money. The worksheets also were helpful.
All the basics for starting a business! February 5, 2010 D. Accardi (Santa Barbara, CA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Thank you Mimi! This is a fantastic book for anyone who has considered starting their own food business but are not sure where to start. The book deals mostly with cooking/baking but the concepts can easily be applied to any production business. Even if your local health department does not allow you to make your goods at home Mimi identifies other options that will allow you to start your business. Everything from making a budget, figuring out the cost of your products, shelf-life, how to name your company/products, and even free recipes are included! Another fantasic feature is the bonus DVD that includes downloadable forms such as a recipe cost calculator, press release template, expense ledgers and much more. Even if you have never considered becoming an entrepreneur this book is so well written and thorough that it might inspire you enough to give it a shot! Again, thanks for writing this food business bible!

My wife who loves baking retired from job and was looking for something to do to bring in extra cash. I bought her this book and she found it very helpful.
After reading the steps laid out in this very well organized and clearly written book, she is now seriously thinking of starting her own business.
